The Flats
Janailah offers supported housing and an outreach service to young people living independently as they prepare to leave local authority care. The young people are offered practical and emotional support to enable them to cope alone and live independently. Work here includes weekly contact and some groupwork (as appropriate) Young people work to the same objectives as the young people supported in the residential home.
Young people are prepared for independence by enabling them to achieve the following opportunity to.
- Practice managing their day today living.
- Build positive relationships.
- Develop Self management Skills
- Develop skills to live independently
Accommodation is provided through independent flats/apartments in the community.
Education and job training is a key feature in our work with young people and links will be maintained with Connexion, local colleges, learning centres and employment training agencies.
NB: Outreach support is also provided to young people not living in accommodation provided by Janailah.
