Janailah Ltd
was set up in 1997 to provide training and consultancy to organisations and professionals largely in the social work/ social welfare arena. The company was also set up to provide support to children, young people and families involved in the care system. The early work with families was around prevention, keeping families together and avoiding reception into Social Services care. The residential arm of the service Nailah House was developed some three years later.

The founder Jenny Lapompe is a highly qualified professional, she holds a Degree in Social Science, a Diploma in Social Work, a Diploma in Management Studies, a Certificate in Youth & Community Development and a Practice Teaching Award. Jenny and her team are committed to delivering a quality service to their users.
Some of the work Janailah has been involved with over the years include; service development, reviews, team training & development, devising policies and practice procedures, mentoring and audits.

Janailah has evolved over the years as an empowerment service and we continue to impact people’s lives positively.

The residential care home Nailah House was opened in January 2001 and welcomed its first resident on 5th March that year. The home has been going from strength to strength since then and has successfully cared for and supported many young people to achieve positive change. Our referrers come back to us year after year and we have consistently achieved ‘good’ inspection ratings. Over the years we have built up a reputation for working effectively with difficult teenagers and achieving behavioural change with some youngsters exhibiting very challenging behaviour. Past residents have remained in contact with us and we have continued the support long after they have left. Nailah House has worked successfully with the following groups of young people;

  • Young people with violent and aggressive behaviour
  • Persistent offenders
  • Persistent absconders
  • Self harmers
  • Young people with high level drug use (heroin and crack addicts)
  • Young people with moderate learning disabilities
  • Young people with mental health concerns
  • Young people with HIV
  • Sexually exploited females
  • Young mothers & pregnant young women
